Description: Founded in 1889 as a teacher education institution, Slippery Rock has grown into a comprehensive university. SRU exists for the purpose of helping students successfully fulfill their academic dreams.

Credit Options: Maximum of 12 credits of like kind courses accepted prior to matriculation. Qualified CLEP exams accepted for undergraduate prerequisites.

Platform: Blackboard platform; a web-based eLearning tool providing 24/7 access to course content including course syllabi, handouts, PowerPoint presentations, video lectures, out-of-class discussions and links to required reading

  • Admin Requirements  Requirements include transcripts, test scores, application and $35 fee Individual departments may require letters of recommendation and prerequisite coursework, or specified undergraduate degrees. Generally, an undergraduate QPA of 2.75 or higher is required for unconditional acceptance. Initial teacher certification programs expect a qpa of 3.0 or higher for admission. DPT applicants average an entering qpa above 3.25 for all coursework.
  • Costs  $357.00 per credit (in state) $365.00credit (out of state)
  • Scholarships  Over 100 graduate assistantships are awarded each academic year to deserving graduate students. Tuition waivers and stipends are awarded to select graduate students in exchange for required service to the designated department
  • Loans  Federally-funded and private graduate educational loans are available to qualified candidates. Applicants may apply by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
