Description: Thomas Edison State College offers a wide variety of degree and certificate programs that may completed entirely through the College's online and distance learning courses. Some programs offered are in Crimonal Justice, Health Science, Computer Science, and Social Services.

Accredidation: Thomas Edison State College offers a rolling admission, except for master’s programs, which run in scheduled cohorts


Credit Options: You may earn credit through online courses, guided independent study, examination programs, transfer of previously earned credits, professional and military training, and by demonstrating college-level knowledge acquired outside the classroom

Platform: Online through MyEdison Web portal, and through guided independent study’s audio and video options. Programs are asynchronous – available when you are available – so you can participate on your time

  • Tech Requirements  Online courses require a computer with Internet browser and e-mail access. Minimum requirements to access an online course include Windows 98 or higher, or equivalent operating system, and a browser such as Netscape 8.1, Internet Explorer 6 or newer
  • Admin Requirements  Must be an adult 21 years or older. High school graduate or equivilent. RN to BSN must have valid license. Graduate students must hold a Bachelors degree.
  • Costs  NJ Residents (and FT active duty military) avg. $119/credit undergraduate; $422 graduate; $286 nursing undergraduate; $433 nursing graduate. Non-NJ Residents avg.$157/credit undergraduate; $422 graduate; $335 nursing undergraduate; $433 nursing graduate
  • Scholarships  There are a number of general scholarship opportunities, and those for specific groups, such as students who possess an associate degree from a NJ community college; those working toward the arts, human services or political science; and Latino students
  • Loans  Thomas Edison State College participates in a number of federal and state financial aid programs. Eligible Thomas Edison State College students may receive Pell Grants or Federal Education Loans, such as the Subsidized Stafford Loan and the Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, for courses offered by the College. Eligible New Jersey residents also may tap a variety of state grant and loan programs
