Description: The University of Alabama at Birmingham's Health Informatics program offers a convenient and effective blended delivery format which encompasses all online classes and two 4-day residential requirements (including weekend days) per year. Students are able to maintain their full-time jobs and take classes from anywhere in the country.

Credit Options: The eligibility of your transfer credits depends on the subject matter of each credit and the accreditation status of the institution that awarded each credit

Platform: All classes are offered online. Web-enabled course management software allows learning through presentations and podcasts. Videos and links are available to articles in UAB's state of the art library.The MSHI program has two residential visits per year

Geographies: No restrictions

On Campus Requirements: Two 3 day weeked campus visits are required per calendar year. The residential visits are filled with networking opportunities, guest lectures, and interaction with alumni, faculty and student cohorts

  • Costs  Graduate: $269 in-state and $673 out-of-state
  • Scholarships  Several industry-sponsored scholarships are available to second-year students. A Dean's Diversity and a Merit scholarship is awarded annually to qualifying MSHI students.
  • Loans  Additional loans may be available. Applicants may apply by completing the Federal Application for Free Financial Aid (FAFSA).
